Hello

I started my career in behavioral health working as a care coordinator at a residential facility for clients with mental health and substance abuse issues. I went on to graduate from California State University of Long Beach with my Masters in Counseling (MFT). My practicum traineeship included work in a local high school and a local middle school, as well as a non-profit outpatient center, and I started a private practice in Los Angeles during my internship. My training included Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Psychodynamic, Gestalt and Family Systems Therapy.

 

In 2018, I started a position in the Admissions Department at a nation-wide mental health and substance abuse treatment company. I worked in the corporate office as a residential admissions coordinator before transferring on-site to a local Partial Hospitalization and Intensive Outpatient Program. This allowed me to experience residential and PHP/IOP treatment settings first hand, sitting in on treatment teams, interacting with clients and families and witnessing the day-to-day, behind the scenes operations. After a year and a half as an admissions coordinator, I transferred to the Utilization Review Department where I gained further experience with managed care, insurance authorization, billing departments, psychiatrists, medical directors, electronic medical records and treatment planning.

 

These experiences helped me develop a real-world understanding of what is needed to successfully staff behavioral health treatment facilities. I have also had the fortune to meet a number of talented clinicians and decision-makers in the mental health field that help me find qualified candidates quickly.
